The partner institutions come from Denmark, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, Spain and Hungary.The project aims at investigating alternative ways in which adults can learn basic mathematics, especially in out-of-school situations, supported and coached by teachers in/from adult learning centres. |

AMADA started on the 1st of October 2005 and has a duration of 24 months. |

PME is affiliated as subgroup to the ICMI, the International Commission on Mathematics Instruction. Communication from the Commission The European Commission adopted a Communication calling on the Member States to promote adult learning in Europe. The pressures of demographic change, globalisation and the emergence of newly industrialised and highly competitive countries mean that adult learning must be placed firmly on the political agenda. To do so, the Commission will work with the Member States to produce an Action Plan on Adult Learning in 2007. This aims to support European adult education, with high quality information, guidance and assessment systems, excellent learning content and delivery mechanisms. |
