Welcome to Falcon

This portal will be maintained by a European consortium and supported by the Grundtvig 4 action of the Socrates Programme.

The Falcon project arises from the need to discuss in a European seminar the pedagogical issues relative to Family Learning: didactic approach, quality criteria, cultural adaptation, and infrastructure.

The main objectives are

  • to establish a foundation for a European discussion on Family Learning
  • to raise awareness of the importance of this strategy as a tool for the integration in LLL of adults with an educational disadvantage
  • to provide a forum for the exchange of experience and good practice
  • to identify and validate examples of good practice
  • to increase the motivation of educators and policy makers involved in pioneer work in this field, through communication in an international forum
  • to provide support and recommendations for further development, through proposals within GR 1 or 4.

The target groups are policy makers, researchers and educational institutions that are or wish to be involved in Family Learning.

If you belong to this group, you are very welcome to

  • read the information you will find in this page
  • participate in the interactive discussion area
  • attend the Falcon conference, which will take place in Oslo in Aug 2005
  • register your name and e-mail address, to be able to get information on the detailed Falcon programme
