It is situated 8km south of Iasi and it was first mentioned in documents in the 17th century.
People
The inhabitants of this rural area are very religious people because
of the existence of three very old monasteries in the region.They grow
cereals, raise animals and some of them commute to Iasi where they work in
different places.
Tourism
This area isn't developed enough from a tourism point of view but it has a
huge potential:

The Natural Reserve Repedea(oolithic lime-the first geological reserve in Romania)
