Regional Education Centre (ROC) Utrecht , Netherlands

One of the largest providers of vocational and adult education and training in the Netherlands. Vocational education to over 20,000 students. A very large department of adult education with over 12000 adults consisting of Dutch as a foreign Language, Numeracy & Literacy, general education, and integrated courses offering both language and vocational contents, reintegration courses for adults returning to the world of work, etc.

More than 20 centres in neighbourhoods of the major cities in the Utrecht area and from community centres in smaller towns and villages. ROC Utrecht is actively promoting international mobility and co-operation e.g., at the moment promoter of a pilot project dealing with mobility of young workers in SMEs. Slovenian Institute for Adult Education (SIAE) ,Slovenia

Slovenian Institute for Adult Education (Andragoški Center Slovenije) is non-governmental research and development institution with the following main areas and types of activity:

Research
: participation in AE, education and learning for governance and active citizenship, evaluation in AE, adult literacy, counselling and guidance, comparative research of the systems of AE.

Development: improving access to AE by developing the LL dimension of libraries (learning exchanges), cultural institutions (study circles in museums); developing new programmes for marginalized young and adults; developing motivation programmes for non-participants and would be participants in AE, developing new forms and methods in non-formal AE education; developing and delivering programmes for continuing education of adult educators and developing strategies and measures for promoting lifelong learning, providers of learning and policy makers in different areas (adult education, culture, regional development, Strategy of economic development, National development plan) and different levels (national, regional, local).

Counselling: to individuals, institutions and national authorities.

Information system: data bases on providers and programmes in Slovenia.

International co- operation: co- ordination and partnership in international projects (Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci, Phare, 5th Framework Programme; EBiS), membership in international AE associations (EAEA, ICAE, ESREA, ISCAE, ILSCAE) and networks (ALADIN, INEBiS).

Vilnius Adult Education Centre , Lithuania

800 annual learners are studying at general and secondary school level. 81 personnel.

The Center offers flexible study programs and also organizes supplementary courses.

The Center has already made its steps in applying the modular principle as methods of teaching. Adult students can choose single subject providing knowledge of a certain level and amount.

Participates in international projects: Socrates Grundtvig-2 Project “Guidance and Counseling” in the year 2002-2004. Socrates Grundtvig-2 Project “Educational Triangles” In the year 2002-2004- bringing together different types of institutions- museums, libraries and adult educational institutions. “ Teaching Adult People in the New Millennium ” financed by Nordic Council of Ministers in the year 2001-2002 - how to use different kinds of open flexible education.The Centre also participated in local projects: “Omnitel”, Dr J.Kazickas, Mr.V.G. Gruodis program to support Education, and the competition of the Educational Development Fund “The History of Our Luck”.

AGORA - Association of Participants, Spain

As the main aim of is promoting the managing capacity and initiative of people who participate in adult education, ÀGORA provides support to all activities made by people who take part of adult education; and offers a wide range of cultural activities, trying to cover the lack of most of these activities among wide sectors of population, especially of the neighborhood in which ÀGORA is placed. Today, ÀGORA has 2000 participants.

AGORA has since 1997 participated in seven different European projects. Latest in the Grundtvig2 action program Creativity (2001) as partner, and in the eLearning project Dialogic Media Literacy (DIMELI) as coordinator.
